About Dog Horizon

Hello, I’m Patricia Jackson, the person behind Dog Horizon. I grew up with the thump of happy tails and the rhythm of paws on kitchen tile. Dogs were part of every season of my life, and when I had a home of my own a friend called looking for someone to take in a rescue. I said yes without hesitation.

Life was busy with kids, work, and the endless list of family to-dos, yet making room for that dog changed everything for the better. I learned how to build simple routines that fit real schedules. I found training approaches that were kind and effective. I figured out what actually helps dogs stay healthy, calm, and curious.

My kids fell in love and asked for a second dog. I agreed with a promise from everyone to pitch in. We trained together, shared walks and feeding, handled grooming, and turned vet days into team days. The kids learned patience and how to read canine body language. I learned that clarity, consistency, and compassion make family life and dog life work together.

Dog Horizon exists to share what our family learned and what we continue to discover. You will find practical guides written in plain language, health and nutrition insights grounded in evidence, and training plans you can use in ten minutes a day. Whether you just brought home a wiggly puppy, welcomed a rescue, or want to help a senior dog thrive, you are in the right place.

Meet our crew

Right now we are a two dog household with plans for a third. Our dogs keep us outdoors, keep us humble, and keep us laughing. They are the reason this site exists and the inspiration for every article.

If Dog Horizon helps you and your dog feel more connected and confident, then the time and love poured into this project are well spent.

Thank you for being here.

Patricia
